Born in Angola and raised in Portugal, Rui Ribeiro moved to London in 1982 to study Interior Design. He then joined the architectural firm of Gensler & Associates International as an associate working as a designer for corporate clients including a number of major global financial institutions, law firms and technology companies.
In 2003 he joined the interior design practice of Jonathan Reed to work on a series of high-end residential projects for high-profile clients before establishing his own interior design consultancy, Rui Ribeiro Interiors in January 2008. Since then he has focused on residential projects, each individually conceived and unique to each client reflecting the location and the architecture of each home.
Projects include an apartment at the Albany in Piccadilly, a house in Chelsea, London, a 16th century weekend retreat in West Sussex and a family residence in Portugal.
